Hola salseros! Spooky Salsa dance at Blue Horse Gallery (301 West Holly). Live music from Sabrina y los Reyes 7-9pm followed by the best Latin DJ mix by Antonio. We’ll lead some line dances in your favorite styles: salsa suelta, bachata, and reggaeton. Get dressed up for the costume contest! $10 adults, $7 students, all ages!

Road Closure this Weekend

Looks like the city is planning to close the 80th/Greenwood intersection this weekend, so if you come to practica that way you should check this website and perhaps find another route:

Metro bus notices seem to indicate the closure is postponed, but the city website doesn’t say that, and there are signs all over 80th, so I would expect a closure.

Hey Seattle! A quick update on Maykel in B-ham.
–Our pre-sale tix sold out fast, we are now selling at the door rate ($25) in order to make our tight budget.
–If you are planning on coming, we suggest you reserve a ticket ASAP by calling Antonio (360)595-7369 or emailing us at rumbanorthwest@gmail.com. We have no system to take credit cards. Tickets need to be picked up by 10pm CASH PLEASE the night of the show or they will be released to those on the waiting list.
–Accommodations tip: the Guest House Inn (where Maykel and his band are staying) are offering a rate of $65 for single, $75 double. Just mention the concert when making reservations.
–The doors will open at 8pm, come early to get a spot and get warmed up with all the other outta-towners while Antonio DJs. Drinks and appetizers available. Between 9 and 10pm, Karlos y Estilo Cubano from Vancouver will perform a rueda, and Antonio of Rumba Northwest and Chen Lizra of Latidos Productions will perform a rumba. After the show, Antonio will DJ till around 1:30am for more dancing. Check with us at the show for after-party details.
–IT’S GOING TO BE EPIC! We have people coming from: Tri-Cities, Corvallis, Portland, Vancouver, San Diego, Alaska, Olympia, Lopez Island, and of course SEATTLE…don’t miss it!

Maykel Blanco in Bellingham 10/15, Club Sur 10/16!!!

It’s true! Maykel Blanco in his first US tour will be playing in Bellingham (Blue Horse) on Saturday 10/15 and in Seattle (Club Sur) on Sunday 10/16. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to meet this world famous band and dance to them with all your energy. A bailarrrr!
The band initially just had Miami, New York and San Francisco and now thanks to a combined effort is coming to the Northwest. Both concerts are guaranteed to be sold out.
For the Bellingham show: doors open at 9pm. There will be a Timba lesson at 9:30pm and a dance demo. Also the night will be invaded by Casineros, Timberos and Rumberos from Vancouver, Canada and Seattle, that means Rueda will be popping all night (and then we’ll take to the streets!)
Tickets: $22 pre-sale, $25 day of event
Note: This same show is $50 a ticket in New York and San Francisco. Due to the cost of the event we have limited the amount of pre-sale tickets to cover the expenses. Get your tickets soon at:

Hi! I met you all last Sunday when I was just randomly wandering up the Wallingford steps from the Peace Festival at Gasworks Park. Thank you so much for an awesome time!! I will try and make it out more to dance and practice with you all!! Yeah!!
