Top Ten Songs in Cuba – Planet Timba
My favorite section…3:37 right after the Reggaeton when the backup vocals come in and the triplet (three over two) at 3:43, see if you can hear it, sweet…

My Dearest Casino Familia,
I want to take this moment to thank all of you for the wonderful send off back in July. Sam, I just read the tribute you wrote about me and I am very very touched by it. You guessed right, I haven’t been on the internet much trying to get myself settled here in SoCal.
Thank you, Sam for the heads up on FB to check the blog. I am just reading the tribute out loud to Orlando and I welled up with tears from all the love I felt from your beautful words. I miss you guys so much and hope you come visit us here in San Diego real soon.
In an effort to stay up-to-date on the Cuban scene out here, I am getting myself involved in the Cuban events in San Diego. I’ll be writing a piece on the blog later about what and where to go for Cuban dancing, music and the local Cuban bands. In the meantime, I am nostalgic por mi Seattle.
There is a saying in spanish that says “dime con quien andas y te dire quien eres”. Translated means “Tell me who you hang out with and I will tell you who you are.” Well I am proud to say I AM a nerd and love to disect a Cuban song or dance, find the clave, identify it’s African infuence, the meaning of the lyrics, and dance TO the music (listen to the call and response that each song dictates for bailadores)….all in all have fun dancing to the best Cuban music, both live and from DJ Baracoa’s playlist. If this is who I am, well Thank God for that! Where else can I can share this passion than from the SeattleRueda dance community where we eat, share food together and watch dance YouTube videos together, dance everywhere (on the steps, at the park, while hiking on cardboard? That’s what makes this SeattleRueda special. It’s been a month now here in San Diego and I must say I was spoiled with the weekly Cuban events in Seattle. Not as often and weekly in SD, but when there is something going on, it’s off the freakin’ chain and I am all over it.
I love you all so much and miss you terribly. Just know, you will be welcomed with open arms in San Diego. Shoot me an e-mail if you want my new contact info. (FYI, my e-mail and cell will remain the same).
Con mucho cariño, So sorry this comes to you a month later….:(
