Hi Everyone. There is this really cool spot on Lake Union called Citrus ( in the square where I LOVE SUSHI and The Blue Water Bistro ). I’ll be Dj’ing and the dance floor is bid enough. It’s like a step into Miami Club Scene and I’ll be playing Cuban Music there for the first time. They have appitaIzers and a great bar. It’s cooooooool. Hope yu can join us.

Hey Seattle salseros! It’s Heather and Antonio — the couple with Baby Diego you may have seen at Alki and Selena’s and Betsy’s rueda class. We just wanted to say thanks for welcoming us to Seattle’s Cuban dance scene, and let you know what’s going on in Bellingham if you ever get up north. We’re doing rueda-in-the-park on Sundays at 5pm, we have rueda classes on Mondays, Dominican Bachata classes on Tuesdays, and Cuban Salsa classes on Thursdays. We’ll be doing an Afro-Cuban workshop on Saturday August 28th, and will start a Cuban Son class in September. We’re also organizing a group trip to Cuba in January (our sixth trip but second group trip). MAIENSY:I met Maiensy in 1999 and because of her friendship and guidance have enjoyed to learn the pleasure of dancing Cuban casino ( salsa cubana) until this day. You will have a great opportunity to grab a dance lesson from her.
ZARABANDA: Both the savvy and the uninitiated get up and moving to this irresistible dance music! Echoing the classic Cuban conjunto format, Zarabanda plays deep-grooving salsa, straight from Old Havana, and spices it up with modern arranging sensibility. Equally at home in dance halls, festivals and concert halls, Orchestra Zarabanda is known for it’s trademark sound of sultry melodies contrasted with syncopated and exacting rhythms. The band is comprised of latin rhythm section, trombones, flute and vocals. Influences include Felix Chappotín, Celia Cruz, Eddie Palmieri and Los Van Van.

Hi all,
I have been informed and you may have heard, that our friends at Paladar Cubano (the Cuban Food Truck) – corner of 90th and Aurora…will be closing it’s doors for good today. Open til 7pm or until food runs out.
A sad day in Seattle.
We wish them all the best.
Thank you for giving us some of “El Sabor de Cuba” for a while!!!
