Alki Beach Casino on Cardboard August 26, 2016

It’s still hot! It’s still summer. It’s still August. We’re still dancing on the beach tonight, August 26, 2016!

Where:
You’ll find the dance floor right on the sandy beach at Alki at approximately 2501 Alki Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116, across the street from Duke’s Chowder House near 58th Ave SW.

When:
Set up by volunteers from 5:30-7 PM. Music and dancing begin by 7.

Dances take place every Friday night all summer as long as it’s dry, at least through Labor Day weekend in September.

Bring:
Sunglasses, sunscreen, shoes you can get dirty, and maybe a jacket for sundown are great ideas. Optionally bring food or drinks to share. Alcohol is not allowed at the public beach, but friends and passersby are always welcome.

Help wanted:
DJ using any device with a 1/8″ headphone jack!

We can always use volunteers to help set up between 5:30-7. Arriving early is also a great way to find a decent parking spot too! Leave a comment if you can volunteer to DJ, help set up, pack up, or transport the dance floor.

We still need new volunteers to transport the dance floor to/from Alki Beach September 2-9. The job consists of picking up the dance floor on Friday the 2nd at Alki Beach at around 10 PM, storing it for the week, then dropping it back off at Alki beach on Friday the 9th at around 6 PM. You don’t have to be at the beach the entire night, just in time to pick up and drop off the floor.

Plenty of volunteers will be available to help unload, assemble, disassemble, and load the floor each week. The trick is getting a good parking spot.

Transporters need at least as much trunk space as a compact SUV (Examples; Subaru Forrester, Toyota Rav 4, station wagons, minivans, vans, pick up trucks, or SUVs). The loaded flooring measures about 3′ W x 3′ D x 18″ H.
