Summer Alki Casino on “Cardboard” starts Friday, JUNE 15th

Posted by on 04 Jun 2012 | Tagged as: Alki Beach Parties: Casino on Cardboard

Do you look forward to every Friday, for a sunny, breezy, relaxing, good time, dancing to great Cuban music, with the shining Sound and Olympics in the background?

Casino on Cardboard 2012 is starting, and we are looking for a few groups of volunteers to be this summer’s crew.

Needed help:

  • weekly unloading/re-loading of dance floor (great times to be had with the squeegee!)

  • weekly set up/break down of dance floor (get to dance to tunes early while setting up floor!)

  • weekly beach spot-finding and saving  (be an ‘early bird’ … bring your camping chairs and eat your dinner al fresco while holding down the fort!)

  • floor storage – ideally two people to each take half of the floor pieces home each week, and transport them to the beach each week for set-up.

If you are interested in getting a group together to be a ‘crew’, or sign up for a couple of Fridays/or a month of Fridays please respond to this post.

Sunday Practica

Posted by on 04 Jun 2012 | Tagged as: Practice

A couple of items regarding Sunday Practica:

We are paid at Sonny Newman’s through June 17th, so on the last Sunday in June we will move outside to the Wallingford Steps. If it is raining we will meet at Gasworks Park under the picnic shelter on the east side of the park. Wallingford Steps is at the very south end of Wallingford Avenue, and connects it to Gasworks Park.

The iPod connecting cable has disappeared again in the last couple of weeks. If anyone knows where it is please return it to Betsy, Steve, or me. If you want to play music on an iPod at practica you will need to bring your own cable to connect to the sound board.

Welcome to all our new dancers, it’s great having you join us!
