Rueda Practice today

Posted by on 10 Jan 2010 | Tagged as: Practice

Hello my peeps,

So last week we reviewed “El Space Needle” and “Patin con la familia.” I’d like to review these and if time allows we can review another two Seattle signature moves, “Paseo de San Juan” and “Avion de Boeing.” This should be a lot of fun. Just a reminder to all, that this practice is inclusive to all. We have two ruedas going on and our hope is to add a third for advanced moves (an advanced rueda circle), we just need to make sure there are three instructors in the practice so we can make the three circles happen. I will be bringing the Seattlerueda.com grid of the levels of steps. This will help folks self assess what level they are in and if they are ready to move on.  Let’s give it a shot and see if there is a chance to do three circles. As Mike in Rumbanana says, una bulla!

Beginners Rueda de Casino Classes in Tacoma

Posted by on 08 Jan 2010 | Tagged as: Instruction

Yes, that’s right! It’s finally happening. My beginners rueda de casino class begins tomorrow, Saturdays from 2-4pm at the Tacoma Amory. There is no sign up, just show up. It’s $35 for 7 selected Saturdays if you show show up tomorrow. Then it goes to $45 if you show up the following Saturday (January 16th) and then $55 if you show up January 23rd. Then enrollment stops and the next series will start in March. Given the recession, this is quite the deal!

The class will be strictly beginners to learn footwork, listening to the music and finding the beat, the accent and the rhythm,  isolation movement drills and beginners steps for rueda. Come with comfortable clothes, (street shoes are fine), your water bottle and a towel. Be ready to sweat.

For more info call (206)300-4523 or e-mail me at sbdiva32@yahoo.com   I have no website yet but that is forthcoming. Please spread the word.
