New Cuban music & where to buy it

I haven’t done this in a while, but thought it might be useful to provide a list of favorite places to buy Cuban music, locally or online. And I highlighted a few new CD’s from Cuban artists that I’ll spin this week at these events:
12/4, Friday at Havana Nights
12/5, Saturday on KBCS 91.3 FM from 6-8pm on Al Lado Latino

John’s Music should be your first stop in Wallingford. johnsmusiccenter.com
Other local stores like Easy Street Records and Silver Platters use to carry a sizable amount of Cuban music, but both have steadily decreased their stocks over time. However, still good locations to stumble upon some gems.
Prodland.us out of Miami still offers a vast collection at good prices, and free shipping. It offers audio samples for newer CD’s. Typically, you’ll find music here that isn’t even available for sale in Cuba (no surprise there).
Descarga.com out of NYC, it has a great collection (equal to or larger than Prodland) and they post information and critics of the CD’s. Prices tend to be on the high side, but catch their sales. It offers audio samples for newer CD’s.
Amazon.com has steadily increased it’s Cuban music collection and now offers both new/used CD’s and downloadable MP3′s, most at good to fair prices.
DustyGroove.com has a respectable selection of Cuban music, along with music from other countries. They offer good prices on some selected CD’s.
CDBaby.com is building up it’s collection of Latin music and has Cuban music. They even categorize of few sub-genres of Cuban music, and offer some basic reviews of the CD’s.

Thanks, Thomas. This is a good review of music resources. See you on Friday!
Hi DJ! I want to add The Spanish Table on Western Ave ,in the Market. They have an amazing selection of Cuban music, also older recordings. And lots of Latin music from all over the Globe.
