Traditional Cuban Dance Classes

A number of people have expressed an interest in learning more about traditional Cuban dance, and the number of people available to teach in Seattle is limited. Kyra and I have asked Lance Lu to set up a series of traditional Cuban dance classes. The series would start with a 6-week danzon class, beginning the first week of February 2010. There will be a meeting of interested people at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 3rd, at Makeda Coffee (aka as 7 Roasters) on 78th St. just a few doors west of Greenwood Avenue. Please join us if you are interested to hear more!
Lance would like to have 4 – 6 committed people who are willing to attend the entire 6-week series, to be held at his house. Class size is limited to a maximum of six. The plan is to continue with a son series, cha cha cha, son montuno, etc. Lance has studied extensively with Roberto Borrell, and is also a musician, so this series will focus on learning to listen to the music and learning the cues for the dance.
The price is $15 per class, with each series payable in advance ($90 for the danzon series).
