Good Morning everyone,
This is a quick note to remind you that today is the first day of my Body Movement workshops. These workshops are designed to help all dancers increase their ability to flow while dancing. If you are interested in truly improving your body movement, and your ability to pause, gesture, and PLAY when dancing, then please come on over to Todo Bien 5417 Meridian in Wallingford at 6pm today. Please wear soft soled shoes only and come ready to sweat.
Peace. Dennis

The time has come again, for the “end of the month” “BBQ” potluck after Sunday Practica.
What’s up with all these quotations, you say?
Well, the date is Sunday, November 1, thus it’s not really the end of this month…
AND
the BBQ potluck is transforming into warm-cozy-soup-chili-type eats…
SO: come to the first-of-the-month end-of-the-month soup
BBQ at Desiree’s house.
WHEN: Sunday, November 1, 2009 starting 6:30 ish (after Practica ends)
WHAT: bring a pot of stew, soup, chili, something warm-n-cozy
OR
bring a loaf of crusty bread
OR
bring a Fall-type dessert (hmmm, pumpkin pie, apple pie…)
OR
bring your favorite drink.
WHERE: Desiree’s house:
4116 Woodland Park Avenue North
WHY: Let’s celebrate the coming of Fall by continuing to eat, dance
and laugh together!
Call Christina 206-819-0935, if you have any questions!

Did you watch the first of two episodes of LATIN MUSIC USA last night? If you didn’t, and/or if you did, do check out the show’s website which has some resources.
Although this isn’t Cuban music and dance specific, this show covers interesting chapters in Latin music. I’ll highlight a video used in the show called “Our Latin Thing” (“Nuestra Cosa Latina.”) It was recorded in New York City at the Cheetah in August of 1971. If you haven’t seen this film, check it out. It was the beginnings of salsa in the USA. Boy, do I wish I could have been there.

I got a copy at the Puerto Rico airport on a trip a few years ago. Looks like netflicks might have it. Enjoy!

The blog was hacked in the last 24 hours. That pushed me to upgrade the software to the latest version.
The interface for managing/posting has changed – so don’t be surprised. If you notice something that has changed or is not working anymore, please let me know – I may have missed something.
