What IS! (What if…part 2)

I’ve gotten some great insights via email and here. Ideas are flowing and I’m seeing some forms take shape as possibilities. Thank you to all the folks who have stepped up over the years.
Because of YOU, we have an identity,
which IS
a PLACE of sorts.
Many people and a few individuals in particular have worked hard to keep the BEACH parties going, piece together PERFORMANCE groups, organize BENEFITS and to maintain this WEBSITE, its predecessors and cousins.
You have all pitched in to fill DANCE floors, TEACH, recruit, and draw people into Sunday rueda PRACTICE.
Our favorite DJ’s have worked themselves into some great venues and developed their own followings. The MUSICIANS keep creating and playing great music. There is no denying -
What IS ALREADY,
is pretty amazing.
Are we ready for more? Why not! We have all the pieces.
I dream the impossible. I won’t promise it, but I might be able to help move us a little closer. Keep the ideas coming – it will keep me motivated. And who knows, you might actually see me out dancing more, too.
A call for “guerilla” volunteers will follow soon.

In New York, they have Salsa on weeknights. They serve a buffet at 6:30 then dancing starts at 7pm and ends at 10pm. I love that idea… For those who dont like to stay up late, maybe they would come out. I know alot of Rueda folks who just dont go out… we dont exactly know why, but could survey the group.
Another idea? Get the Latinos into Casino and Rueda. Many of them already dance in the round instead of in LA or NY style slots. If we had cards to pass out, I would recruit Spanish speaking folks, and anyone else can do the same. If the teachers have cards, I will pass them out to Latino men.
