I just wanted to give a Big Thanks to all the members of the Supersones who gave their time and energy to play for us last night, and help create one of the most fun & memorable ALKI, CASINO ON CARDBOARD dance parties EVER!
Big Thanks to Jan and Eddie for the cardboard and music logistics!!
AND EVERYONE ELSE…who volunteered set-up/clean-up to make the evening a BLAST.
OH, and thanks to Andre for bringing the Coconut Juice !!!

Can Anyone carpool/pick up a workshop attendee from the U District

Nicola Soriani lives in the U District. He is without a car and is looking to see if someone can carpool/pick him up to/fro the Duane Wrenn workshops this weekend. Alternately, if someone can bring him there on saturday, i’m sure we can figure out between us how to share giving him rides back and a ride to on sunday morning.

They will be at the outdoor amphitheater at Magnusen Park, 7400 Sand Point Way, NE, Seattle.
Ann Reynolds of Clave Gringa will be sitting in on piano, and Ron Barrow of SuperSones will be sitting in on trumpet…
Salsa from Cuba, Samba from Brazil, Muerga from Panama, second line from New Orleans and plenty of funk from both the U.S. and the U.K. are incorporated into a typical performance. The band’s book includes material from Tito Puente, Cubanismo, Willie Colon, Joe Aroyo, Jamaroquoi, the Brand New Heavies, the Brooks Brothers, James Brown, Tower of Power and Stevie Wonder.

Hey folks.. as if we don’t already have a full plate, Salsa en la Calle is in 2 weeks. A group is headed to Portland Saturday afternoon, going out Sat night and the festival all day Sunday. It’s a blast – tons of people, all ages, dancing all day and night. Website : http://salsaenlacallepdx.com/
One of the hostels is full as of today, but there’s another one with room, $22 per night
