We’ve been talking about having a potluck after Practica. Let’s do it!

Sat, May 30: No 6pm Casino Class at Todo Bien

There will not be a 6pm Casino class at Todo Bien this Saturday (May 30.) If you want to practice or learn more Casino dancing come over to the 3-4pm class at the Phinney Ridge Community Center. The cost is $10.00. Rueda classes will be taught there also from 12 until 3pm.

Kirkland Dance Center Spring Show – 2pm or 5:30pm – Casino and Rueda performance

Next Saturday, May 30th, 2009, is the Kirkland Dance Center Spring Show, where Nadja, Becky, me, and a very talented group of Casino dancers will be performing Casino and Rueda. It will be held at the Lake Washington High School in Kirkland, with two opportunities to attend, at 2:00PM and at 5:30PM. Both shows will be exactly the same, so if you are interested, you have the option of going to an early or a later show.
Tickets for the event are $12, and the show is the biggest fundraising event of the year for the Kirkland Dance Center, which uses the funds to give back to the local community through charities and projects.
The show will showcase routines choreographed by all Kirkland Dance Center instructors, so you’ll have the chance to see more than just Casino and Rueda…

The Lake Washington High School is located very close to the Kirkland Dance Center, a couple of minutes east of 405 in exit 18.

In keeping with the good weather and sunshine join us for a night of dance. The Summers here are too sort to sit home and watch TV. I’ll be Dj’ing starting 10:30 so you can get the sleep you need but if you have the bug like me come on down.

Volenteers for a Rudea Exhibition today at FolkLife

Gustavo asked me last night if we could put together a small to medium size rueda exhibition at folk life for about a 3 minute song. I told him no problem so if we show up at 5 we can put it together like we did last year or the year before. We keep it simple using turn that everyone who shows up knows. Rueda Practice Reminder – It’s Outside this Sunday

Just wanted to post Kyra’s reminder about Sunday’s rueda practice again so it is easily visable:
“It’s supposed to be sunny all weekend–hooray!

Guerilla rueda anyone….at Folklife?

Hello my Peeps!
I feel the need to dance with such great weather. Any of you feel the same? How about a random rueda meet up (a.k.a. guerilla rueda) at the the Seattle Center at 4pm in front of the Key Arena? In the past, guerilla ruedas would take place there. Anyone want to dance today? I’ll bring extra batteries for the bookbox. Let me know…I was going to meet up with folks who are going to practice for our performance next friday…might was well make the rueda bigger! Let’s just have fun!! Bring sunscreen and lots of water!
