2009 marks the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. This hour on The Changing World, we examine the impact the revolution – and the leadership of Fidel Castro — has had on the music and musicians of Cuba.
Here is the link to learn more or listen online: http://www.thechangingworld.org/. It is worth taking the hour to listen to if you are interested in the unique way the history and politics play a distinct part in Cuban music.

Come on down to the Navya this friday and enjoy some great Cuban Timba. I’ll be Dj in the club room playing the great tunes you like. We have two dance floors with the best variety of Cuban Dance Music and Salsa in Seattle. This place is really nice and if we can keep it going the owner wants to expand later this spring. Those of you who go out to dance know it’s tough to find a place that plays the music you like. here we have the best of both cause if you want to bounce to the other room Nick will be spinning Salsa and his cool mix of Merengue, Bachata and Reggeaton.
