I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for making Seattle Rueda what it is.
I had a wonderful time at practice yesterday. Everyone seemed to be in good energy–we just kept dancing, different people calling and teaching, always something going on. After the third “instruction” session for barco velero over the past 5 months, I finally got it down (yeah!). And I brought a friend who had never danced before. I could see that she felt welcome, and that everyone was calm and encouraging when she joined us for the first half-hour rueda. Plus, one of our experienced leads danced with her for half an hour, so she could really feel the rhythm and follow guapea and dile que no and adios. I can’t tell you how good it felt to see my friend feel so welcome and enthusiastic on her first visit. Another convert to rueda de casino.

Boy…I know I speak for many of us, when I say that we should be thanking You! Thanks for dancing with US…and making our community what it is by your great attitude and organization. Not to mention a consistent presence on the blog, at practice, etc.

Now that I can finally post..
Kyra, I walked away Sunday feeling the same way. I had such a great time!!! And yes, practicing the moves again made a huge difference. i found myself trying ot see if I could do it in my head, and when that happens, I know I’ve got the move.
