Yes, I’m talking to you casinera. rueda-dera, salsera, and all the other “eras”(gals) and the “eros”(guys) that want to dance rueda this Thursday at the Century Ballroom. Last week I had the pleasure of dancing a really fun rueda with Chaille, Diane, Rebecca, Barbara, Steve, Eddie, and finally with two Cuban fellows who could tear it up. So things are building up for rueda here in Seattle.
What’s next? Well I met a Latino fellow on Monday at Haley’s loft who dances like a hot knife going through butter. And the bonus is… that he LOVES rueda. So, I invited him to the Century for a Thursday night rueda and told him that there are PLENTY of people to dance rueda with at the ballroom. So let’s show him some of our Seattle style this Thursday. Come on up Maritza. I’ll pay for your gas. :) See you all there.

Great News!! The Hotel Whitcomb has dropped their price for the Salsa Rueda Festival to $75/ a night (double occupancy). Also, they have offered the price for the 3 days following and preceding the Festival. So if you want to dance all weekend and then explore SF…You can. That seems to be the question that a number of people have asked me concerning rueda classes in the near future. Betsy and I have finished the last 10 week series and are both looking forward to teaching again in January. The exact starting dates have yet to be determined for my class, and by contacting Betsy she will let you know when her class will begin.
Until that time, I will continue to teach my Casino Basics class in Wallingord. Click on instructors for times and location. Thank you all for your support and see you on the dance floor.
