We had about 25-30 people for the first Casino on Cardboard: Alki Beach Party.  It will only get better as it begins to warm up more over the summer.  We even caught the eye of a photographer from The Seattle Times – how about that!  See you next Thursday.  Georgia

LOST AND FOUND:  after cleaning up, there was a water-bottle (orange hour-glass shape with green top) left behind.  If it is yours –let me know and I’ll get it back to you.

LIVE MUSIC: I have been in contact with the SuperSones to arrange a Thursday date for them to play acoustic for us.  I’ll be in touch once the details are confirmed.

Cameron has been dancing Salsa and Rueda for nearly 10 years, primarily in San Francisco, as well as in Santa Cruz, Miami, Oaxaca, Seattle and Portland. She loves Rueda because it creates community and is so low pressure.

Saturday night from 8:00-9:00 pm at Open Flight Studio (4205 University Way NE, Seattle)

The class will be tailored to meet (and increase) the level of the dancers. We will create a strong foundation in dance and learn some fun and interesting moves. Some steps that we may cover will include the basics all the way to dedo Miami! Salsa dancers of all levels welcome.

Since this is a new class, I’m starting with a lower price:

$30 for a series (4 classes) or $8 for 1 hour with a sliding scale available

Next series: July 5, 12, 19, 26

Come out to enjoy some great music this Saturday, 6/28 at the Rainier Valley Cultural Center for a dance party hosted by the Senegalese Association.

Music will be a variety of Senegalese genres including Mbalax music which has a strong Cuban influence. And we’ll be spinning African salsa and straight up Cuban music too.

Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for sale.

10pm to 3am
