Video of the Week

I have a collection of YouTube favorites that I’ve been collecting for a couple of years. Ofer suggested that I post a video of the week. So, to kick it off, here’s a nice one from Santiago de Cuba. The dancers are unpretentious and smooth as butter. Enjoy!

Great idea! Thanks Cat. I remember you had a lot of nice ones. This one is smooth like you said and effortless, no extra movements, always in control!!
Sabroso.
And…once again I think I hypnotized myself with denim cloth.
I second Sam: great idea! Didn’t know you were collecting this stuff. A video of the week will be something to look forward to!
I like the video idea – thanks Cat! And thanks to Ofer and everyone who is making this new blog a reality – it is a real community effort.
I hope we have a big turnout (and good weather) for our June 1st rueda at the Wallingford Steps – see you there!

Notice how very few moves the guy uses – all the interest, syncopation, accents are done in footwork and where he places himself in the space. Nice…
